MoneyGram & Haas F1 Team

MoneyGram International, became the new primary lead sponsor (in 2022 - leading into 2023) for the Haas F1 Team, known world-wide for their racing in Formula 1. Being a senior role of the MG UX Team, I was put into charge of leading the experience of the two companies partnership in our digital realm.

The Problem:

Seamlessly connect two power house brands into a positive partnership on a global stage. Leading to an engaging experience but also drive new users to download the app, more web & social interaction, and lead consumers to send money with MoneyGram.

Team Roles:

Collaboration across many internal teams within MoneyGram was essential to produce the best result for the partnership of Haas F1 Team & MoneyGram. Teams part of the collaboration include, Product Designers, Product Managers, iOS, Android, and Web developers, EA, BA, and Marketing teams.

The Solution:

The key to understanding a seamless connection between two well known brands was to first start off researching competitors that have done the same thing. What did these companies do right or wrong? Was the best user experience achieved?

  1. We needed to develop & understand all entry points for our Authenticated and UnAuthenticated users.

  2. Then we took the focused entry points and mapped out our user flows journey’s. This ultimately helped drive the requirements, rules, logic, and design for the entire project.

  3. Finally we designed Hi-Fi prototypes that lead to user testing and end to end development. Eventually being released to the Apple and Google Store.

The Results:

The entry points that we strategized ended up leading to a very successful launch in the Fall of 2022.

  • 1 Million Auth & UnAuth User Impressions in MoneyGram’s iOS and Android App

  • 40K New MoneyGram Downloads

  • 19% uptick in Money Transfers for domestic and international sends
